  • Playback and potential missing frames?

I haven’t been able to convert anything in Vegas 12 Pro, Win 7 64-bit at all. Never had this problem before with like 10 Pro however here’s the deal.

    Mostly MKV

  • Demultiplex MKV to H264 and AC3 or whatever streams.
  • Multiplex the H264 (just working with the video) into MP4 with DVBPortal MP4 Multiplex/Demultiplex
  • Multiplexing set Frames/Sec to 23.976 as original video
  • Timescale leave at 90000
  • Video plays fine after conversion.
  • I then create a new project in Vegas using the mp4 as the Match Video Settings choice.

I then just immediately create a new file for a test. Have tried:

  • MainConcept MPEG2 Blu-ray template
  • AVI HD 1080 Uncompressed
  • Windows Media Video 11 HD template
  • All come out jerky like there is missing frames in the output. What could I possibly be doing wrong?

This happens to all kinds of files, in this case basically all MKV originals and the MP4 container version seems to play OK before Vegas gets it.

    Thanks.

EDIT: For reference, just uninstalled Vegas 12 and installed 11 Pro 32-bit and does same thing. Ugh.

EDIT 2: Not sure good or bad. I just installed Vegas pro 12 on a new Win 8 laptop. Same jerky output of the converted video. Multiplexed MP4 conversion comes from plays fine.
