i wish to use my spare G4 and medea drives to edit data
digitised in the G5 rooms using AJA codec .i.e. 8bit uncompressed

i have transferred the raw data to medea drives but is there anyway to get
FCP to playback the aja codec without a card in the G4?

will the generic codec do it? well i know it wont do
it immediately because i tried but is there a trick?

Can you grab the codec files and move them or just install them off of the disc with the drivers for your hardware?

Go to aja.com and download the drivers you need. I believe you can just install the package and don’t need an Io actually attached.
