Panasonic Pro Plasma series. We have two of them. Viewing angle, color reproduction and blacks reproduction exceed anything you can get on LCD.

Anything on this page will work.

http://www.whplatts.com is who I buy from as they are a pro Panny dealer and they have some of the best prices on them.

We run a 50″ and 42″ in our shop.

    Hey Walter,

I looked up those monitors am amazed how affordable they are. Question, how does SD look on them, does it do it 1:1 or scale it? Or both?

    Have a wonderful day.

Yes, extremely affordable. Decent job of SD, but not the best. These are HD monitors first and foremost. If you run a lot of SD in 4:3 ratio, you will get a burn in image of the black along the left and right. This will eventually burn its way out, but I would not use this as a primary 4:3 SD monitor.

No 1:1 scaling. The TV Logic displays have this and they are absolutely stunning in both HD and SD. Much more expensive though.

Definitely a great TV for the home and it’s cheaper than what you’ll get in a store. Why? Because there’s no tuner, it’s just a display. But since we all use Cable TV boxes and Satellite Boxes, who needs a built in tuner? I know several folks who have these in their homes after seeing what they look like here. Nintendo Wii looks fantastic on it! 🙂

Oh and for regular SD TV viewing, I put the screen into Justification mode. Looks good and fills the frame so I don’t get burn-in.
