Planets
Posted by Craig C smith on August 26, 2006 at 1:18 amI would like to try to make the Planets Saturn and Uranus in Invogorator Pro for AE.The planets are no problem. I am having a problem of making the rings. I do not know how to make them. Any help would be grateful. Thanks in advance

August 26, 2006 at 1:53 amHi,
-In IL create a circle with a hole. This will be your ring.
-In PS or ae create a square map. 1000 X 1000 for instance and make sure that it’s tillable.
-In Invigorator place the circle object around your planet, set the depth to (0)and map the square map to it.
Let us know if you need more help.
Salut.

August 26, 2006 at 1:58 amAnother way:
Create the rings image on a square Photoshop document and save it with an alpha channel. Apply that image to a square plane primative in Invigorator.
The illusion works unless you plan on getting really close to the rings and flying through them like NASA animations. You would have to use a very high resolution image with the little chunks of material.
