Dear All, i have a simple goal in mind i want to create a wave throw a wire, i thought that plain effector surly will do the trick but it didn’t behave as i expected..

Am i doing any thing wrong here!

If your goal is to DEFORM the wire – as in have a bulge travel along it – then I think a bulge deformer is what you’re looking for. Otherwise, please elaborate further, or provide a sample image of your ultimate goal.

Jim!! thank you a lot for your reply.. here is an example of the goal that i did using the wind deformer

But i don’t want the wave to go upward and then downward, that is why i wanted to achieve that using a simple plain effector.

The problem is i didn’t expect the plain effector to create a bulge, i set the deformation to Points. and set the transform parameter to move 50px on the X axis. and i expected all the point to move 50px on that axis. but they didn’t.
as its showed in the first screenshot it just created a bulge ☹

I now my English isn’t that a great, and am making it harder for you to understand what am i going for,
So thank you again for your time.

the Transform Space in the Plain Effector/Parameter settings needs to be Object or Effector not Node (which is the default) then it will do what you want
