This seems super basic, but it’s got me scratching my head…

I’m using the plain effector to make a bunch of cloned snowflakes fall. I need to ramp the speed of the snowflakes, which is why I’m using a plain effector vs particles.

Now I want the snowflakes to fall at different speeds, so I put a random effector with random weight above the plain effector.

But instead of falling at different rates, the snowflakes positions are offset, but they move the same speed.

How can I have the snowflakes fall at different rates?

I think you might be able to get the right effect using the Time effector instead of a Plain effector, or even an Inheritance effector, but the easiest way to do this would be to use a standard particle emitter, using the variation parameter for speed.
