  • Placing a graphic with both an image and text?

    Dear Folks,
Hi, I am an InDesign newbie, I am making the charts for my brother’s book, I made the photo composition in Photoshop as a background, I was able to add text in Indesign. I wanted to, then , make that (both text and photo) into a single graphic that I could place. I made an indesign file with both layers when I tried to put that in my library It only showed the photo and not the text. I tried selecting the whole layer, I tried selecting both the image and text layers, I tried to group the image and text layers( grouping was greyed out).
We have a number of charts with a similar image background and only slightly different text, I like to place the chart with both text and image into my library and then make the changes to the text.
    Thanks for your help!
