Placed Illustrator assets not updating in AE comp
In my AE CC comp I’m using some assets I created in Illustrator CC. Normally I can make changes to the Illustrator document and it will update in AE automatically.
But with one asset I’m using, my Illustrator file has some objects that are “Placed” (or referencing ANOTHER Illustrator file). When I update the original .ai file (the one being referenced or placed), the second Illustrator file updates fine (the one placing or referencing the first). BUT–I have that second .ai in my AE comp, and for some reason it’s not reflecting the changes.
I’ve tried using “Reload Footage” and saving and closing both programs (several times). Neither seems to work.
Any ideas?

Does the image update if you purge the cache (Edit > Purge)?
