Basically I have a tube (outer diam 100, inner diam 80) with a rod (diam 20) passing through the centre of the tube parallel with the tube.
A rubber diaphragm seals the tube at one end and the centre of the diaphragm connects to the rod.
The rod moves back and forth like a piston. The tube does not move.
The edge of the diaphragm remains still (connected to the tube) while the center section moves with rod, the bit in between flexes and stretches.
I have selected points of the diaphragm that are inside the Rod.
I have tried to animate the selected points of the diaphragm by dragging the selection into Mocca.
In Mocca the points selection does not have an input port that allows for position data from another object so I cannot link the rod position data the points selection.

Any suggestions how to do this?

    Thanks

8.5… is that pre-clothhilde? (I don’t remember) if it isn’t you could use clothhilde and belt the diaphram to the cylinder

    Hi Brian

    Sorry, no clothhilde.

I am beginig to think that MOCCA is not the path to go.
As a very very last resort I can key frame this.

Whether it be Mocca or not task is clear…..

    There are two objects…………….
I need to animate a set of points on object 1 so these points have the same motion as object 2. The non selected points of object 1 do not move

    Any thoughts ??????????

    it can be done

diaphram — Vertex Map tag (with vertex weights)
    – bone — Restriction tag (referencing the Vertex Map tag to limit bone’s influence)

now you need to get the bone moving with the cylinder, did 8.5 have the Animation Set Driver/Set Driven stuff yet? – I think so, if so use that ( or straight xpresso )
