    i used to edit on Xpress DV 3.0 on a PC.

    Recently, i upgraded to Media Composer on a Mac.

    I transfered my Avid projects and all omfi and mxf files from the Xpress
    to the Composer.

    But when I play back the sequences from those projects, i get pixelated multi-colored
    square blocks in the video that last about 10 secs., then stops and again, stops, again., etc.

    How can I fix this? i need to export and encode some of these projects to make a DVD.

    I have never tried such a thing. Maybe try deleting your database files and see what rebuilds?
    sounds like you are batchin’ to me.
