    Hi,

I’m currently trying to edit HDV footage, which I have been told was shot with the HVX 200.
I am taking some scenes and colour correcting them to look more like night.

I’m using ‘colour correction’ from the final cut pro effects as well as ‘natress day for night’

I’m starting to see very weird pixelated shadows.

Can anyone help me as to what these might be or how to fix them?

How far are the shadows from the subject? i.e. If it’s a person, is the shadow perpendicular to that person, casted on the ground? Or are they all pretty close to the subject?

    They’re pretty close.

it is a person laying in a bed, it almost looks like a ring around the bed.

If you only need to do it with one shot, a quick fix is duplicate your video track. Use a garbage matte for the one on top and mask out everything else except the shadow. Then apply a fast blur on it and a flicker filter. Make sure to feather your mask so that the shadows will blend in smoothly.
