Pixelated lo-res dvd from standard def project
Hi,
First, thanks to the people who helped earlier. I am in a situation of being forced to quickly learn fcpx due to my computer with fcp studio being under repair. With the help I got earlier I was able to complete a project, but now the customer writes that the dvd looks pixelated and low resolution. I had looked at it quickly before mailing it and it had looked a bit flickery and soft but I attributed that to the small tv and cheap player I was using. (I’m camping out at a relative’s house while I wait for the sale of my new home to close.)
So, question 1 is, regarding exporting a standard def project to dvd, is there something I’m missing re settings? Last time I exported to quicktime, using default settings and from the .mov file to dvd via iDVD. This time I’m trying to go directly to dvd using the share menu.
One thing that would help with judging sharpness would be the ability to look at what I’m editing with a TV monitor. My understanding is that you can’t do this with fcpx but question 2 is, is there a workaround? If not, question 3 is, what is the best way to make my slo-mo look as good as possible? With fcp studio I used frame blending along with some sharpening, but I’ve noticed there are other options with fcpx. With the slo-mo I’ve tried on fcpx, on my computer monitor it often looks distressingly low-res, but I’m not sure if that’s because the version I’m seeing is not a fully-rendered version. Other fx look blurry as well..
I am consulting the manual and that’s helping some, but I need all the help I can get ASAP.
