pixel problem
Hi, i work with an HVX 200 with some 32 and 16 gig P2 cards. Recently , from time to time, i get those anoying pixel problems. It always take place on only one frame and could happen a couple of time inside the same clip. I first thougth that it was a card problem, but since it occur on different card and randomly i start to think it s inside the camera (probably sensor) that the problem is generated.
Any idea how to fix that. Should i send the camera back to Panasonic ?

That looks more like a major issue with your cards or some internal fault of the camera than an image sensor problem. At any rate- absolutely that is going to require servicing by Panasonic asap.

I recall a post that attributed this to dirty contacts in the camera and/or card. Unfortunately, the artifacts are in the clip. If they’re not too big, perhaps a bad-pixel fixing plugin like Reincarnation from Digital Heaven would help remove them.

In my experience, that was dirty contacts…dust. Try canned air first to clean the card and the slots, do some test shots and see if it is cleared up.
But yeah, the footage now permanently has those pixels, so that can’t be helped. Just like tape heads can get dirty, so can tapeless contacts.

dunno if it’s a dirty anything. I had this problem when copying from P2 cards with the protect switch disabled. when I enabled the protect switch and used shotput pro to do byte for byte verification the same footage imported glitch free. do you have access to the original footage on the P2 card?
