    Sorry, this question jumps back to some basic basics, but it’s something I haven’t had to deal with in a long long time so I’m fuzzy on it.

    I have a client with a spot that lives on a DigiBeta. We want to get it off the Digi and into a quicktime file for some work in FCP, something I haven’t done in a long time.

    What are the right pixel specs for the QT that is created from the Digi? 720×486 CCIR 601? And if we want the best quality QT that will serve as our Master Source from now on, what’s the best codec to use? Apple Uncompressed 10bit?

    I’m forever confused by 486 vs 480 vs the old 540…

    Affirmative, 10 bit uncompressd at 720×486, but only if your hard drive subsystem can handle it on capture and playback, otherwise you will drop frames.
