    Not quite a Final Cut Pro question, but hope it’s close enough.

    A client needs a digital spot with the following specs:
    Video frame size = 720×480 (NTSC)
    Frame per sec = 29.97
    Aspect ratio = video=4:3; pixels=8:9
    Audio = stereo
    Sample rate = 48000
    Audio bit rate = 224kbps

    Problem is I only have QuickTime Pro on hand.

    I think I’m OK w/ most settings, but the one that concerns me is the pixel aspect ratio, asking for “8:9”, not. “.9”.

    Is using the DV/DVCPRO – NTSC setting correct, along w/ setting the size at NTSC 720×480 4:3?

    Also, with an audio bit rate specified, AAC seems to be the only format that allows for 224kbs quality. Any thoughts?

    Thanks, and hope it’s OK I posted here.
    🙂

    I would double check to see if that is a typo.

    4×3 aspect equals 0.9 pixel aspect and with the 720×480 I think you will be fine. If you use the aac encoder that will be fine too.

    I would ask about the pixel aspect, but based on the other specs it all looks standard to me.

    That’s what I thought, but wasn’t sure.

    Would it matter if this is headed for a TV station in the Caribbean?

    No… its only NTSC or PAL… Caribean should be NTSC
