    So I’m working with a HDV footage (1440 x 1080) 1.33 16:9 in After Effects.

I’ve scaled down my composition to 1024 x 768 so I can work with the web.

The composition looks really stretched in but once I check “Toggle Pixel Aspect Correction” it views fine.

However I want to export a still frame to Photoshop but once I do it looks stretched in again in Photoshop. I can check fix pixel aspect correction in Photoshop as well but don’t want to do that since I want to keep my size as 1024 x 768.

How in the world would I be able to fix this? My ultimate goal is to export it in flv.

Try putting your footage/composition in a 1024×576 Square Pixel composition (16:9), then select your footage/pre-comp and go to Layer > Fit To Comp.

This should work because the 1.33 pixel aspect ratio is there to bring the acquisition aspect ratio of 4:3 (1440×1080) up to the display aspect ratio of 16:9 (1920×1080). Your footage should look correct at a 16:9 aspect ratio.

For the web you want to work in a square pixel comp. Just import your HDV comp or footage into a square pixel comp and AE will handle the PAR correction automatically. Just scale the footage to either crop or fit it to the comp making sure that your X and Y scale values are identical.
