Pink Snow when monitoring MBE SDI

I just got our multibridge extreme hooked up to our SDI router.

When I choose to monitor the Multribridge Extreme (FCP) output I see
pink snow if final cut is not running.

Is there any way to fix this?

It looks really bad whenever I minimize final cut pro to work in another app briefly and pink snow shows on the monitor.

Is this regardless of your DeckLink desktop resolution?

It only shows this on our SDI monitor.

DVI monitoring is fine (but thats the DELL for HD work)
we mostly do SD.

What is your desktop resolution set to for the DeckLink Video Desktop? Could it be that the card’s putting out a HD desktop while your monitor is only SD capable?

oh, do you mean when fcp is not running its trying to send the desktop out the SDI port?

Is there any way to disable that on the sdi? I just want the screen to be black, like it did before on our Discreet *smoke.

I do like the desktop on the LCD though.

Sorry, no way to selective disable the desktop output. You can turn it off completely using the option in the DeckLink Preferences.

Hi,

Actually, I might be wrong. Turn on hardware down conversion and use the SDI B output to connect to you SD monitor. This way, you can monitor SD via SDI and HD via DVI.

I turned off digital desktop and that did solve the pink snow issue.

But I like the idea you just posted.

One thing we always wanted to do with mbe was edit in HD with the LCD showing HD footage and the SD monitor showing a hardware downconversion of the exact same thing simultaneously.

Our clients would be quite impressed with that going.

I just tried this and the DVI-D displays HD but I get pink snow on the SDI CRT monitor hooked up to channel B from the MBE with hardware downconversion on. It passes through an SD signal when software downconversion is on, but then it turns the DVI-D signal into SD as well.

Do I need to have MBE software 5.6 to make this work?
