    hey guys!

i’m trying to link a particle emitter to a “text animation preset animator”. the “typewriter” preset to be exact. i’m trying to make particles appear the exact same spot a new letter appears.

i thought maybe i could link the x-coordinate value of the particle emitter via “if – else” expression to the percentage value of the type start animator. that would probably only work for one line at a time though. sadly enough – this is as far as i was able to figure out a solution…

any help or a wink into the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

You might be able to make it work if you were using a mono-spaced font like courier so that you could predict the offset between characters. You could detect the line-feeds in the source text by looking for “\\r” (I think, haven’t tested it).

thanx dan! – i’ll try that – only out of curiosity though, as the client demands their very own font (which isn’t mono spaced i’m affraid).
guess i have to do that one by hand…

    thanx again.
