I’m importing 16:9 footage as Quicktime Refs. I interpret footage as widescreen 1.2 and drag it down in the project window to create a comp. But the comp isn’t 16:9. When I adjust comp settings to widescreen 1.2, the footage is pillarboxed and squeezed. i can drag the horizontal scaler out to fill the void. It makes the footage 115%.

There’s no 16:9 option in the interpret footage aspect ratio pulldown menu. Just widescreen 1.2.

What do I have to do to get the footage to fit the 16:9 format without messing with scale?

So the pixel aspect ratio of both your footage (interpreted, in any case) and your comp is 1.2, correct?

What are the pixel dimensions of both? They need to match as well in order for it to fit.
