Picture in Picture question —–
Hi folks.
I recently used the Cookie Cutter in Vegas to make a
picture within a picture effect. While the overall
effect was good, I couldnt figure out how to make the
entire picture appear in the cutout section. Instead, the
best I could do was to pan around over the small picture
and glimpse it in stages.So basically I’d like to know if there is a way to make the
entire image (or video) insert appear in the cutout section
using the Picture in Picture effect.Thanks.

I think you want to look up “Track Motion” in the help files. That should give you the effect you are looking for…

====Ah. Thanks George. This looks very promising (a new toy even!)
My next question is – how do I reduce the size of the
overlay image/video without having to keep adjusting the ratio
sliders in the menu at the side of the Track Motion menu?
(which seems fiddly and not sensitive enough)Thanks again.

You can set the “Lock Aspect Ratio” so when you drag a corner to resize, the AR remains constant.
Hover your pointer over the little icons above the work area to see the little text popup helpers…

I’m able to resize now but only in one dimension.
i.e. I can alter the height but not the width (by hovering the pointer until a round black circle icon appears).Should Lock Aspect be on or off?

Make sure you don’t have one of the “Prevent Scaling (X)or(Y)” boxes selected.
Should Lock Aspect be on or off?
On so that it’ll scale equally (i.e. correct aspect ratio).
