I am designing DVD covers and am importing color corrected photos from Photoshop and placing them into Illustrator. These are basically going into framed areas that are screenshots of the film.

Now, forgive me as I am more on the video side of things, but after measuring the exact size of the frames in Illustrator, I then made a template in Photoshop of the same size and exported as 300 dpi. Now, I know that AI does not work in resolution terms, but why is the placed image so much smaller that the previously measured screenshot slot, forcing me then to resize again to match the frame.

How would I calculate the target resolution in Photoshop, and I am actually affecting the quality of the imported image by resizing it back up to the screenshot slot.

    Thanks,

    Vince
