Hi All…I posted the following in the Photoshop forum, but so far noone has responded. I know you video guys are pretty diverse in software and platforms, so I thought I’d give it a try here as well.

    Post…

I’m working on making the background of a logo transparent using the Quick Mask Mode in Photoshop 7 (I know, I need to update…).

I finally made my selection and I tried to copy it to another project using the Move Tool, but it said that I needed to rasterize the layer. I rasterized the layer and now it says… “Could not move the selection because the selected area is empty”.

I spent quite a bit of time making this mask. Is there anything that I can do to use this selection without having to re-mask it? Or…what do I need to do to make the background transparent and use this file?

Hope I made sense and I apologize if this is a no-brainer.

    In CS4:
When you made a mask with the Quickmask tool, you can go to the Channel pallet. In this pallet you will find not only the RGB channels but also the mask as a separate channel. Deselect the RGB and drag the mask channel to your new image.
Go to the channel pallette of the new image and select the RGB channel to see your second image.
I hope it works the same in photoshop 7.
