    Hey All,

Just curious, I am using PS 7.0 and use it for video work quite often. So when I create a document for TV specs, I do 720 x 540 (square pixels). But I know that in the new CS version, you can do non-square (rectangular) pixels.

My question is, how does photoshop 7 interpret a document made with non-square pixels? Does it have the same pixel count, and just make them square? Or does it take into account the PAR and make however many square pixels it needs?

    Thanks in advance…

    -Jason

P.S. Also, completely off topic here…is CS considered a version above PS 7.0? Are there things you can do in PS7 that you can’t do in PS-CS?

Jason Iuse PS for video everyday. As far as i know PS7 does not have any pixel magic for 720 x540 images.
I always design in 720×540 and right before I save I resize to 720×486.This will keep your round stuff round. I also work these graphics in an AVid. It also has dialouge for resizing images on import. I use these too if i am in a hurry. Hope this helps.

Better to resize in PS…. cleaner that Avids scaling algorithim

PS 7 incorrectly distorts a graphic opened with nonsquare pixels and displays it wrong.

All the command does in CS or CS2 is adjust onscreen preview.. pixels are still squished (as they should)
