    Hello all,

The problem I’m having is that when I try to paste a selection I’ve copied from one layer to a new layer, it will paste it in the middle of my work space rather than directly on top. It’s a simple problem but it’s causing a lot of headaches and am having trouble finding a good solution to it. What I want to have happen is to simply be able to copy one layer and paste it directly on top of another without anythin shifting. Any help to this would be greatly appreciated.

Control (or Apple on a Mac) + J will copy a layer in place. If you make a selection first, then only the portion you select is copied to a new layer. No shifting, no nudging pixels in place till they line up 🙂

    Cheers
