Photoshop elements
Posted by Chris Ruckert on November 2, 2008 at 12:24 amIs Photoshop elements just like the full version of PS, just with less features?
meaning, that the menus are the same, and the general user interface is the same?Richard Harrington replied 17 years, 6 months ago 4 Members · 3 Replies -

November 3, 2008 at 9:04 pmIt was more so in the past, but now they’re getting a little more defined as two different apps. Elements is still very much like full Photoshop, but has more easy solution features for beginners getting more focus.
Basically, most tools found in both have more features and settings in Photoshop, and file formats like CMYK are missing in Elements, as well as channels and paths
in the layers panel.I’ve been using Elements the last 5 years or so, but just got the CS4 Production Premium, so I’m back to proper Photoshop for the first time since version 5.
Unless you need the higher end features and pro file formats, You can do more with Elements than you’d think for the difference in price.

November 7, 2008 at 4:47 amElements lacks many video oriented features (like Video Layers and 3D).
Also lacks OpenGL acceleration, Actions, Scripts, Masks
And so on…
its a great app… mind you… but the upgrade path and bundles from Adobe make it worth it if you are doing pro work
