I’m sure this was answered over a year ago, but I couldn’t find anything.

We have one MacPro that we were having a few problems with. We rebuilt from ground up and it fixed a lot of the problems. Unfortunately we still have a big problem with Photoshop CS. Yes, I know… we should be on CS3 now, but we’re not ready to do it yet (fiscally). But CS crashes every single time we do a Gaussian Blur, or try to save a file.

Anyone ever had this problem? We have other identical machines, and never had this particular problem. Could it be a hardware problem? Thanks!

    Chris

is your RAM installed in pairs? Weird but we’ve seen a similar with Unsharp Mask and other math intensive filters in Photoshop and older versions of Illustrator.

Good clean RAM in pairs solved it for us but it may just been a coincidence.

Hi, I am very interested in this thread’s outcome. Can anyone confirm a solid fix for this issue? I am still having this problem and the only thing I can say is that Photoshop miraculously fixes itself when machine’s restarted in the “Safe Boot” mode. But I have no clue (or time) to find out why it suddenly decides Gaussian Blur is OK.
