I’m running Photoshop CS2 on an iMac with OS 10.5.

Out of the blue, the application just crashed, and now crashes on launch. Is there an alternative to re-installing?

If I do have to re-install, are there some tips I should know? Do I have to un-install first?

Of course my deadline is day before yesterday.

    Thanks.

You can try trashing your preferences file. Go to
/Users/[Username]/Library/Preferences/Adobe Photoshop CS6 Settings and delete the file Adobe Photoshop CS6 Prefs.psp

You might also want to trash /Users/[Username]/Library/Preferences/com.adobe.Photoshop.plist

You can also try holding down Command-Option-Shift when starting Photoshop to do the same thing, but since I didn’t know how far in the startup you were getting before it died, I figured the manual route was better.

    Hope this helps!

It is easier to destroy than to create.
    More fun, too.

Thanks very much. Before trying your suggestions, I tried re-launching PS for about the seventh time. Guess what!? It worked…………. I’ll save trashing prefs for next time.
