  Photoshop changes won’t reflect in Premiere

  In Premiere Pro CS6:

  How do I force changes in my imported Photoshop layers to update in Premiere? They just seem to change when they want. Sometimes I think the trick is to change the photoshop tool to the select tool before clicking save, and this makes the layer update in Premiere. Other times is takes hours. I have over 20 hours of footage in this project with hundreds of clips so I don’t want to clear the premiere media cache if it can be avoided.
