  Photoshop 7.0 Startup Woes

  I’m running Photoshop 7.01 on a Mac (OSX 10.4) for the last little while I’ve been plagued by start-up trouble. Basically when I launch Photoshop and Illustrator (but not After Effects) I get a message telling me it is updating Adobe Online Components from Adobe.com and is downloading two files. The file is labelled AWEDBFiles4.awe and downloads into my application support folder. The problem is that while it does this PS just hangs and I need to force quit. Only by repeating start up 3-5 times will the application open. This process also needs to be repeated anew each time I re-start the machine. I’ve tried re-installing the applications but the problem continues. Please someone help, this is really driving me nuts.
