PHOTOS jitter & long time to render
Please help ObiwanFCP experts, you are my only hope.
I have an hour doc with more than 400 photos, simple effects like dissolves & zooms. When rendering a project, FCP tells me it will take 36 hrs to render, occasionally it would freeze my project. Additionally, there are random jitters in photos, to fix, I have to call up the original media of the photo, copy & paste attributes (content) to fix. When I have more than 400 photos, this is not productive.
I thought it was the hi res, I reimported all photos into iPhoto then exported into a lower res photo to work in fcp, I thought that fixed the problem but no…those jitters still exist and they are random.
I talked to a friend who writes the program at Apple & he’s perflexed, asked if I can give up my project folder so the brainies can help fix the problem or bug. That doesn’t help me in the meantime, please help.
Since I used the low res photos, rendering a 1 hour project changed from 36 hours to 2 hours. When I quit FCP and relaunch, it asked me to reconnect to the same files from before, and all renders disappeared, I would have to render it again.
Please please help.

I can’t help with the main issue, but for this last part …

Before reconnecting the media, you might try putting the hi-rez files in a ZIP file so FCP can’t find them, naming the low-rez photos the same, then putting them in the same folder the hi-rez ones were. You’ll probably get the error that says some attributes don’t match so you can’t do this, but if I recall correctly, it still works most of the time and you won’t have to reconnect them all one-by-one since FCP will find them all once you reconnect the first one.
