Posted by Guy Mcloughlin on October 28, 2011 at 8:14 pmI’m not sure what this test really means, but it’s pretty interesting…

Really interesting.
Digging about the patch I’ve found this that, if was true, would be great:

November 1, 2011 at 12:13 amUnfortunately the HDMI Out from the GH-2 is messed up, so it’s not usable for recording.
The best you can do is to shoot with the 176 Mbit hack, which will produce footage only containing I frames.

November 30, 2011 at 6:32 pmHi Guy,
I’m about to buy a GH2 in BPPhoto but I’m confused.
Does the GH2 that sells in the USA records at 25/50 too, or only at NTSC time bases?
Please help me.
I don’t won’t to make a mess.

As far as I know the GH-2 cameras sold in America only support NTSC time bases.
There is a new firmware coming from Panasonic that is supposed to enable 1080 HD 25p embedded in a 50i stream, but I don’t know if this only for Europe or for everybody. I also wonder how this new firmware will effect the GH-2 Hack. ( hopefully it won’t make any difference )

December 1, 2011 at 3:10 amHi Guy,
Thanks for your help.
Last night I contacted BHPhoto and they told me the same than you.
Here prices are crazy. Just the body costs USD 1.200.
1.559 with the 14-140 in Amazon UK.
I’ll try to buy it in Hong Kong but no idea if they will get me the Japan (NTSC) or the European model.
Thanks again,
