Hello all, working on a low budget feature. Shot on Z1 HDV, 1080i, PAL, cutting it on a G5 Quad with FCP 5.0.4. Things been running smoothly.

Have a screening tonight with the director, financiers and a mentor. Took film from HDV timeline, converted to dvcpro hd 1080 with quicktime conversion. Then used compressor to turn it into a mpeg2 for DVD. I converted it to DVCPRO because when I used compressor the first time to run straight from HDV it had a shudder on it. Annoying.

PROBLEM IS: Watching back the DVD there seems to be a phantom frame appearing in between two shots, that of a slate. It’s not on the original HDV timeline, but checking it back it seems to be on the DVCPRO HD export. This is incredibly worrying, especially because it takes 10 hours to use compressor to do the encode for the DVD.

QUESTION: 1) Why is this happening and how do I solve it?
    2) Will this appear more in the film (I know I might have to watch the film thoroughly, but there is only so many times you can watch an 80 minute film in a day, as well as doing editing work)
    3) Will this slip my audio out of sync?

any help, as always, is greatly appreciated,

    Jon
