Im have an Illistrator file with around 150 named layers. it is of a binary matrix of nodes. With each level down the nodes half in size.

when i am zoomed in it looks fine but as you zoom out to show the whole diagram the nodes at the bottom slide out of line to the left with the lines that connect them.

This happens even though the camera is looking directly forward and all the imported layers say they are at the same “z” level.

Any ideas how i can get this fixed? how do i create a truly perspective free paralel camera?

It would be nice if AE could render a truly orthographic camera, but the camera behaves as a “real” camera. However, since an orthographic camera by definition has infinite focal length at an infinite distance …

… you should try a focal length of 10,000 at a distance of 10,000 and you should see an orthographic, perspective-free image.

That said, I’m not sure if it will solve your problem. If everything is lined up, you should have seen an equal shift on both sides. Is the X-position of camera and layers equal? Also, close in on the top view of your camera’s keyframes — is one of them bezier, with a slightly angled handle?
