Hey all – just upgraded the ole’ crate to handle AE and HDV from my HDR-HC1 with the following specs:

    AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ Dual Core
    ASUS A8N-SLI Platinum
    2GB PC3200 DDR400
    300GB SATA System Drive
    300GB Capture Drive (Ultra 16)
    Thermaltake 450w ATX 2.0 PSU
    GeForce 7600GT PCI-E (256MB DDRIII)
    etc…

Any suggestions on *dialing it in* for peak performance?

I’ve tweaked most of the bios settings for opt perf, and have windows xp booting as basic as possible. I’m sure there are some AE tweaks that I’m missing – any help on that would be greatly appreciated.

I’m not seeing a marked improvement over my P4 lappy regarding rendering times, etc.. Although I imagine there should be…

My suspicion is that I’m not taking full advantage of the “duality” of the X2?? Is this something that only https://www.gridironsoftware.com/NucleoPro can achieve?

    Thanks again [m]

Out of what you have listed the only things that are going to help AEs render performance is the RAM and the processor… if you want better render performance drop the quality or increase the number of processors rendering a given project.

Maybe in the future the GPU will be used for rendering out finals but not at the moment.

for the other questions some more detail on your AE settings would help…
