Performance hit in 9.0?
Hey All,
Has anyone else noticed worse performance in playing back video in 9.0? I have a dual AMD machine that has XP and Win7 on it. 4gigs of ram, etc, etc. I edit xdcam (.mxf) mostly on this machine. I have Vegas 8 on the xp side, and 9 installed on the 7 side. Vegas 9 seems to have alot of trouble keeping 29.97 frames going, no matter what I choose in my preview options (Preveiw-auto, Good-auto, etc, etc). Vegas 8 performs much better.
I know you may be thinking it’s a Win7 issue, but I’m experience the same slow performance on my work laptop with XP and Vegas 9.
Is there something different about Vegas 9? What setting do I have wrong? I hope it’s not just that 9 is worse at previewing.
I’ve looked around, but hadn’t seen any other posts along these lines.

Did you right-click in the Preview window and disable the Adjust Size and Quality for Optimal Playback option (new in Vegas Pro 9)?

Yes I have, and it hasn’t made any difference.
