Pen Tool for Audio Fades
I’m trying to bring music up/down linearly, but when I adjust the rubber band using the pen tool it creates a sharply sloping curve, and not a straight line. Is there a way to fix this? Thanks!

Only by adding a lot of additional keyframes. You could instead, if this is the start or end of clip, apply a 0dB cross fade. That will create a straight ramp.

Ugh. Well, that’s how I’ve been doing it. (Adding additional keyframes. Strange that it would work that way, but maybe I don’t understand audio. In any case, thanks for the reply!

Hi Tom,
could you help with a Pen Tool issue I have?
I am wanting the sloping ramp to the audio but when I select the pen tool and try adding points, the it look as though I have the selection tool instead (4 arrowed symbol)… not the Pen.Any help would be gold,

Do you have clip overlays turned on? What happens when you put the pen tool on the level line?
