Pen Tool for Audio Fades
Posted by Dave George on May 18, 2011 at 7:28 pmI’m trying to bring music up/down linearly, but when I adjust the rubber band using the pen tool it creates a sharply sloping curve, and not a straight line. Is there a way to fix this? Thanks!

May 18, 2011 at 8:32 pmOnly by adding a lot of additional keyframes. You could instead, if this is the start or end of clip, apply a 0dB cross fade. That will create a straight ramp.
All the best,
Tom

May 19, 2011 at 12:05 amUgh. Well, that’s how I’ve been doing it. (Adding additional keyframes. Strange that it would work that way, but maybe I don’t understand audio. In any case, thanks for the reply!

June 9, 2011 at 4:22 amHi Tom,
could you help with a Pen Tool issue I have?
I am wanting the sloping ramp to the audio but when I select the pen tool and try adding points, the it look as though I have the selection tool instead (4 arrowed symbol)… not the Pen.Any help would be gold,
Gregg

June 9, 2011 at 10:38 amDo you have clip overlays turned on? What happens when you put the pen tool on the level line?
All the best,
Tom
