Pebble Time Watch Animations
Posted by Jaron Pulver on March 11, 2015 at 8:55 pmAny idea how Pebble accomplished these animations in After Effects? I talked with their designers and they said it was done in after effects but couldn’t tell me how or what they used. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Jaron

March 11, 2015 at 9:03 pmWhat part of it do you not understand? Animating shape layers is pretty basic functionality. How much experience do you have with AE?
This tutorial [link] might help explain some of it.– The Great Szalam

March 11, 2015 at 9:05 pmI’ve had 8 years of experience in AE. The warping and delay of points…it’s not as easy as you think.

March 11, 2015 at 9:23 pmAh, okay. I wasn’t sure exactly what you were after.
The animations do look really nice and fluid. Those delays are well done!I do think that the tutorial I linked you to might give you some ideas.

March 11, 2015 at 9:51 pmYeah they are pretty amazing animations. Thanks for the link, yeah I’ve done shape tweens and shape morphs with masks, but nothing delivers the warping and delay of points. I’m stuck. Just wondering if anyone knew of some AE Effects that would achieve this.

March 11, 2015 at 10:11 pmNice Dave! I haven’t tried that. Let me give it a shot. Any idea how the clock unfolds or when it moves to the corner some points have a delay? There is a expression that can target mask points is there?
