Hi, we have a Sony PDW-U1 XDCAM deck.
We need to put FCP Consolidates onto XDCAM disc as a deliverable.

I had a test of doing this a couple of months ago using the ‘U1 Utility’ to format the disk to read write and updating the firmware, then rebooting and copying the consolidate folder into the ‘User Data’ folder on the disc.

It worked then, but now we’re at deliverables stage when we copy it over, it gets a few seconds in and throws up a n error saying ‘Error Code -50’.
We have U1 Utility 2.3.2 and Firmware 2.450.

    Hi Sarah,

This should not be a problem. Can you copy other files/directories to UserData? Or does it reject any type of files? If it’s still giving you an issue try re-installing the 2.3.2 driver and reformatting the disc. Please let me know if you aren’t able to get it working..

    Best,

    Ian

    Hi Ian,

I’m having a similar problem. I can export to the disc using the PDW-U1 and FCP7.

But when a i try to import from the disc i can’t. I get the error: “input stream is not good”.

Can you help me solve this problem please?

    Thanks,

    Gustavo

is it just FCP-exported files or all files that give this error? can you tell me the OS, U1 driver and firmware versions (you can find the U1 info in the Device Info screen of the Utility app)?

    Thanks

did you recently download v 3.0 of the U1 software? can you let me know from where? i ask because we have not posted on the US site yet and I’m wondering if there’s an issue with the version that you have.

The problem is that your version of U1 software/driver is not supported by the older version of Transfer. If you send me your email I can provide the latest version of Transfer (not on the US diownload site yet).. Otherwise you’d need to uninstall V3 of the XDCAM Drive Software and down-rev to V 2.3.
