Posted by Chris Paul on October 5, 2005 at 10:32 pmAnyone heard if Aja will have a version of Kona that will support PCI Express whenever Apple implements it?

October 6, 2005 at 10:43 pmFor those interested in the bleeding edge, you should check out ATI’s new graphics cards. Take a look at all the new features in hardware. https://www.ati.com/products/RadeonX1800/index.html
Of particular interest is the Avivio architecture. Now extrapolate as to how applications can take advantage of it. Oops. I need a tissue! 😎
Apparently there will be both PCI Express and AGP 8x versions.
With all these nice thoughts, now the bad. Whenever Apple has a new motherboard design over the past 21 years, the first 4 months of its life typically suck. After a few dot releases of the OS, the motherboard is finally tamed. So step gently.
Though if you can get a 2x to 3x performance boost, one might step quickly.
