  • PCD35 and offload speeds to a single internal SATA drive or external eSATA drive

    Hello everyone,

I’ve been scouring the web and the Cow and can’t seem to find a satisfactory answer.

How long does it take to offload a single 32GB P2 card using the PCD35 to a single, un-RAIDed SATA 3.0Gb/s hard drive on a Mac Pro? How long for an attached eSATA drive?

All of the benchmarks and comparisons I’ve been reading about either involve FW800 externals or RAID configurations.

The math works out to about 6-7 minutes for a 32GB card if one uses the speed it took me to transfer 1GB of data from one of my internal drives to another, about 12 seconds. I can live with this.

Does anyone have any real world experience using the PCD35 without a RAID array that can give me some real numbers?

Here are the benchmarks for the PCD35 that I’m going by

Goodluck finding some answers to your PCD35 questions, remember soon you’ll be able to ask about the transfers times from the Sonnett Qio reader to your HDD’s.
