    Paths from Illustrator

    Hey all,
    I’m trying to copy and paste some paths from illustrator to AE for the write-on tutorial, however when I
    paste on the brush position in the effect, it wants to just paste masks. I”m using Illustrator CS and AE 6.5.
    Not sure if that matters.

    just tried it and it worked okay for me. Are you clicking on the word “shape” before pasting? If you click on the brush name i.e brush 1, you’ll paste a mask.
