    hi all @ cow,

    hav a doubt

i drew a path in illustrator and applied rough charcoal brush strokes..
i copied the path to clipboard and pasted it into a solid.. i got the path right.. no probs with that..

i saved the illustrator file.. imported that into ae.. also got the brushed strokes right..
    what i want is ….

i am going to animate the strokes.. using 3d stroke or stroke..
i want the brush strokes to get revealed when it starts from 0 to 100 only
i feel it can be done..
can anyone point me in the right direction ? please

if wouldnt have been a problem if the vector paint has the ability to choose MASK to “reveal original image”

    thanks
    aroonz

Use vector paint in your filters. playback mode in the filter set to past strokes. composite set to a matte. Then step forward each frame and paint a matt on the part of the image you want to reveal on. Have a play with the settings and I am sure you will work it out.

or after u import the artwork with brush stroke, copy that path onto it.then apply Stroke effect(under Generate). and choose reveal original from its menu.U may have to increase brush size to cover your brush stroke. And animate start or end.
    Cheers!
