Paste into secondary storyline
Posted by Scott Witthaus on March 19, 2016 at 7:59 pmIs there a method to copy clips from one project timeline and paste them into a secondary storyline in another project? Thanks in advance.

March 19, 2016 at 9:31 pmCopy/Paste doesn’t work into secondary storylines (sadly), even if you select the storyline container first. If the copy/paste is in the same sequence, you can select the clip you want to copy and then hold OPT and drag a copy into the new storyline.
This, of course, doesn’t work when you’re copying from other projects. For that, usually I just paste to the end of my sequence and then drag the pasted clip/clips into the secondary. Not ideal, but…

March 19, 2016 at 10:21 pmWell, the simplest way to do it, I think is select the clips from one project timeline, use Shift-Z to raise them to the second storyline, copy them, use alt-cmd cursor down to put the clips back into the original primary storyline, go to your other project timeline and paste. And it’ll end up in the secondary storyline, just like they were when you copied them.
It actually makes sense you just can’t copy from primary to secondary storylines if you ask me.
