Parts of video drastically lower in quality than others
What the title says. After uploading a video I’d been working on to youtube, I realized certain scenes/parts of it were noticeably lower quality than others. I tried rendering it again – even upped the bit rate – but it produced the same results.
I use sony vegas pro 9. The footage (bought in HD):
mp4 (.m4v)
data rate: 4023kbps
total bitrate: 4567kbps
pixel aspect rate: 1.0000
frame rate: 23 frames/secondrendered with Sony AVC:
video format: AVC
profile: baseline
entropy coding: CAVLC
frame rate: 23.976000
field order: none
pixel aspect ratio: 1.0000
bite rate: 6,000,000The quality loss happens at about 0:48 and lasts up to 1:01. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me figure out the problem here <3

Why are you rendering over your footage?
You uploaded a perfect video, so any drop in resolution
or any other fault is entirely what youtube does to it, and
could also be a limitation of your internet speed or browser, not
anything to do with your Vegas render.Steve Rhoden

I agree with Steve. I didn’t see any drop in quality except maybe one or two places that I did see compression artifacts but your video doesn’t have that much quality to begin with and it has far too much contrast. Try rendering with the 2-Pass option to make better use of your bit rate.

Where do I find the 2-pass option?

I did see a drop in quality when the background got really busy – typical of any encoded format.

2 pass is available in the Mainconcept AVC Customized render settings.

As Steve said if you use MainConcept AVC with a template like Internet HD can press Customize Template and you’ll see a Two-Pass option:
