    Partition External Hard Drives or Not?

    I’m working on a MacBook Pro, Lion OSX, with my project/event material on two 3TB external hard drives – both 7200 rpm & 800 firewire.

    Will it speed things up if I partition each of these 3 TB drives? Or is this a no-no? If I do want to partition, what size should each partition be? Many thanks!

    No reason to partition a single media drive.
