    Hey all,
I need some help understanding something about particular, when I add particular to a 3d comp as a precomp, the particle emitter never shows up in the right place, i.e. it is offset from where I think it should be. If I add it directly to the 3d comp, it can only be seen by custom view cameras, and not by the active camera….what am I screwing up here? or alternatively what principle of particluar am I ignoring.
    -Thanks
    Dave

Have you tried using a Light emitter?

Make sure your comps have square pixels. Particular does not work properly on anamorphic comps. Also don’t use continuously rasterize on your 3D comps when you nest them, thsi will also screw positions. (Particular somehow is unable to calculate the emitter positions in such a scenario).
