    Hi all,

So im working for a client, who decided that he would like a shot of a character appearing from ‘dust’ & ‘particles’

I have Form & Particular, so im using them as my basis for this effect.

now, im not an experienced compositor,

I dont know what i need to add to really make this effect look good. it also has quite a few limitations,
the transition can only be a few seconds long, due to the acting.
the shot is very flat. there is very little zdepth and currently if i just use particular it looks very ‘motion graphic’ and not very intergrated into the shot.

Here is what i have so far,

    1. Separated the character from the background with Mocha,

    2. Took several stills and pieced together a clean plate. which i tracked into place.

    3. Am using the layer of just the talent as a layer emmitter for my particular, which is a great effect, as it looks like he is dissintergrating.

    4. have began messing with the properties of particular.

    Here are some problems/difficulties/challenges.

    1. The shot is very flat, for me this effect so far lacks any kind of intergration & connection with the shot.

    2. the short time of the transition makes it hard to find a good effect that will look good.

    So,

Can i please get some advice, on techniques, things to look out for, how to add depth and realism to a shot, what layers i need to think about when trying to add a good level of integration.

    Thanks
    Josh

Add some camera shake! Hides your mistakes and makes it seem like it’s adding a greater level of complexity than it actually is.

    THanks, ill do that.

Shall i just punch in 10% then add some wiggle to a 3d camera?

    thanks for responding.
