in my comp i am apparently unable to make the “specular” and “reflection map” features enabled.
i tried including point/spot lights in the comp, still those fields are grayed out.
changing the “light falloff” also didn’t help.
i have looked into the help section… nothing mentioned specifically about enabling those features. in the help only the attributes and their functions are explained.
does anyone have any clue what i might be doing wrong??

i agree that those two settings are different from the help settings. but i tried same settings as well…however they didn’t work as well..its just that i took the screenshot they had diff settings.
and yes the help i referred is for the same version i am using.

PS: in the help settings even though the “shadowlet for main” is “off” the “shadowlet settings” are not grayed out!

The specular and reflection map properties are only available if you’re using one of the ‘Textured Polygon’ particle types.
