    Hello Everyone,

I have an illustrator logo with outlined font that I would like to reveal with a particular light streak in AE. When I copy the path from illustrator into the position property of the particular emitter nothing happens. I can paste the mask from the font into the position property of a solid. I must be missing a step. Anyone know what I’m doing incorrectly?

    Thanks!

When you paste the path to the emitter do you see Roving Keyframes?

Is your path too small to register? Turn Directional Spread and Velocity Distrubution to 0.

    Duh,

Did something really dumb, was clicking on the mask layer instead of twirling down the mask and copying from the mask “position”.

You don’t happen to know how to keep a light emitter from affecting other elements in the comp do you?

    Thanks!

You can set the light intensity to 0 and in Particular change the Particles/sec modifier from Light Intensity to None, then use the regular Particles/sec property under Emitter.

Turn off the eyeball on it.
