Particular Logo Problem
Hey guys im following this tutorial, https://aetuts.s3.amazonaws.com/047_logoparticles/tuts_particular_tutorial2000_h264.mp4. The only problem is, my plus sign the one used for the particles, does not have smooth edges. In the tut, the plus sign stays smooths and crisp as it grows larger but mine just loses resolution and the edges get blurry, any ideas on how i can fix that? At first i had it as a jpeg but then changed it to png, eps, and ai and none of them seemed to work. Thanks for any help.

What size is the jpeg? If you want to blow it up larger, 720 by 486 pixels may not cut it… may have to go to much larger sizes. And Jpeg is not the best graphics file format in the first place, just a popular one.

Is the original artwork vector? If it was created in Photoshop, chances are that it is raster and not very high resolution. Your best bet is to create it in Illustrator and then bring it into AE as an illustrator or EPS file. If you only have Photoshop, recreate it in a large resolution – typically 3-4 times the needed size.
